offers a broad range of designer necklaces and bracelets composed of semi precious stones that reflect contemporary, Oriental, and Native American designs. Ad also designs pieces of sterling silver, but much of his present work is around the composition of beaded semi precious stones. His creations express his study of design and the passion for his Hispanic and Native American cultures. His Santa Fe Style designs are unique and distinct for the most discriminating buyer.
With over thirty eight years in public education Ad is now retired from the educational profession. Ad was a classroom teacher for eleven years; as a classroom teacher, Ad taught silver smithing, design, and architecture. He is most proud of the fact that his West High drafting program received The Outstanding School Award in statewide competition. Later, he was selected to be the district coordinator for Community Affairs, acting as the district ombudsman with the Denver Hispanic community. He was a recipient of a prestigious yearlong Rockefeller Administrator Fellowship. He later was a principal at several sites in the metro area. On retiring from the Denver Public Schools, he enjoyed a tenure in the northern suburbs as the District Director of Activities and Athletics for Adams Twelve Five Star Schools. The school district now has a stadium and state of the art press box that was designed by Ad. His last administrative position was also one of his greatest challenges; the Director of Athletics at Aurora Central High School. He was recognized by the media as having resurrected the ACHS program that many considered as the worst program in the state. It took Ad all but two years to accomplish the turn around.
While working on his Masters Degree at Colorado State University, Ad taught a graduate course in casting and fabricating precious metals. Most recently he has refined his fabricating skills at the Instituto Allende, the famous art institute in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
His studio at 1556 Florence Street, in Old Aurora, is near La Cueva Mexican Restaurant and the Aurora Fox Theatre. Whereas, Ad lives within ten minutes of his studio, call him at 720-254-6679 for the day and time that is most convenient for you. |
